Background
I started seriously making records in 2012 and haven’t stopped for a second. I graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in 2018 with a BM in Music Technology and Composition. Throughout my years at Duquesne, I remember spending hours upon hours in their studio. I was in there for at least 8 hours a week for my own booked time, while still participating in other students sessions as well as internships with Grammy winning Engineers and running sound at a local night club.
When I graduated, I still had so many questions specifically regarding mastering and the future of audio. So, I continued my education at NYU and received a Masters in Music Technology. During my time at NYU, I wrote a thesis on Techniques and Philosophies for Mastering Object-Based Music for Streaming Platforms.
I have since researched deeper into the world of immersive audio and found myself looking into techniques for capturing radiation characteristics of sound sources for XR environments. This idea of “holo-phonic recording” techniques is what I’ve centered my Tonmeister Advanced Certificate in. I started out my year by writing an E-Brief on the topic for the 2021 Fall AES Convention.
I currently work at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music as an Audio Technician, repairing their many consoles and microphones. My evenings are comprised of cooking delicious vegan foods, watching cartoons or doing other freelance engineering work.
