String Trio
The goal of this session was to explore different options for stereo main systems that might work well for recording a string trio. The systems detailed in the diagram to the right are: O.C.T., M/S, Blumlein, Small A/B, Large A/B, and spot mics on each player. The Blumlein and M/S systems were done with 3 Sennheiser MKH 800 Twins. They’re independent dual capsules allowed me to modify the “dry/wet” mixture between the front and back capsules in the ProTools Session.
